The One Planet Lab brings together influential people from business, finance, international institutions and academic communities, known for their engagement and innovative proposals for the ecological transition. It was officially launched on September 26, 2018, in New York City at the second One Planet Summit.

Through its diversity, it structures a strategic reflection that aims to feed the One Planet Summit's momentum by suggesting new objectives and new levers of action. Whether they are private companies or institutions, it brings together and carries on a large scale concrete actions to respond to the global challenges related to climate change, biodiversity loss and the well-being of societies.

It is made up of volunteer personalities who are able to mobilize their peers and to implement systemic transformation. It has so far brought together some thirty members and partners recognized for their expertise and determination to act in favor of the environment. The Lab is actively sponsored by Bertrand Badré (Blue like an Orange Sustainable Capital), Paul Polman (Unilever Foundation) and Nick Stern (London School of Economics).

The One Planet Lab establishes a one-year working program in selecting few areas and tipping points around the 4 main themes of the One Planet - climate, biodiversity, oceans and finance - and sets up working groups to formulate and implement recommendations.
