A task force to improve the coordination of governments and the philanthropic community in their work towards the implementation of the Paris Agreement objectives.

The Task Force on Philanthropic Innovation was set up at the 2017 One Planet Summit, so that philanthropic organizations and governments could develop new joint initiatives to address climate change. Its work has focused on four main themes: public-private finance, renewable energy in South-East Asia, air quality and land use.

The Task Force comprised 16 foundations and four governments (Canada, France, Germany and the United Kingdom). Its work has now been completed and its final report was published in September 2019.

Two initiatives were launched as a result: the Climate Finance Partnership and the South-East Asia Energy Transition Partnership. Pilot projects on city air quality in developed and developing countries were also set up. The final report also contributed to the creation of the Clean Air Fund.
